The Wenbeck creates weddings for the Columbus area by offering two flexible spaces, the all seasons pavilion with pond views and the ballroom with a large dance floor and balcony. Couples can host ceremony and reception in separate areas, use preferred or outside caterers, choose bar options, and rely on an on site venue manager for a smooth timeline and vendor coordination.

Top Reasons to Choose The Wenbeck for a Private Event in Columbus

When you're planning a private event in Columbus, the venue choice shapes everything that follows. The Wenbeck gives families, companies, and organizations across Franklin County a space that doesn't force you into a single format.

If you're hosting a milestone birthday, a corporate retreat, a fundraiser, or a family reunion, you need a venue that adapts to your guest count, your timeline, and the way you want people to move through the day. Over the years, we've learned that the features our clients value most aren't always the ones highlighted in glossy photos.

The Wenbeck is a flexible private event venue for Columbus-area gatherings, with a ballroom and an all seasons pavilion that can be used together or separately. Rentals include key furnishings, linens, setup and teardown, and an on-site venue manager. Catering is flexible through preferred partners or approved outside caterers, with bar options and easy access for northern Columbus guests.

They're the operational details that make your event run smoothly, the flexibility to bring your own caterer or choose from trusted partners, and the peace of mind that comes from working with a team that understands northern Columbus logistics.

What Makes The Wenbeck Stand Out for Private Events in Columbus

When you're comparing venues, it helps to know what actually separates one space from another. The Wenbeck has hosted hundreds of private events, from corporate seminars to milestone birthdays to fundraisers. The questions planners ask us most often come down to space flexibility, what's included in the rental, how we handle food and beverage, and whether the location works for guests coming from across Franklin County and beyond.

Two Spaces That Work Together

We designed The Wenbeck with two distinct areas because no two events follow the same rhythm. The ballroom is our anchor, a climate-controlled space with a large dance floor, floor-to-ceiling projection screen, and an upper balcony that gives you sightlines across the room. It comfortably accommodates up to 210 guests for seated events and up to 300 for cocktail receptions or larger gatherings.

The All Seasons Pavilion opens to a 3,000 square foot stone patio overlooking one of three ponds on the property. Retractable glass doors allow you to control the amount of fresh air, and the pavilion includes heat, ceiling fans, and lighting, so it works year-round. You can use the pavilion for a program or welcome hour and move guests into the ballroom for dinner and dancing, or you can host the entire event in one space. The flexibility matters when your guest list shifts or your timeline needs adjustment.

Service and Staffing You Can Count On

Every event includes an on-site venue manager. That person arrives before your first guest, greets your caterer and any vendors, and stays through load out. They handle room layout, review contracts and final detail forms with you, and act as the main point of contact on the day of your event.

If you need more hands-on coordination, we offer a day of coordination add-on that includes early venue access starting at 10 AM, a detailed vendor schedule, decor setup oversight, and monthly planning check-ins starting a year out. That package also covers packing up your decor at the end of the night, which removes one more task from your list when you're ready to leave.

What's Included with Your Booking

Your rental includes gold Chiavari chairs, or white padded chairs if you need them, guest tables, cake and gift tables, linens and linen napkins in your choice of colors, and all setup and teardown. You also get access to our getting-ready suite and parlor, which are separate get-ready rooms with space for your group to spread out before the event begins.

We provide liability insurance, overnight parking, and wireless internet. The ballroom balcony is open for guest use, and the property spans 30 acres with views of manicured golf course grounds. If you want to add enhancements like golf cart transportation, engage your guests with putting on our putt putt course, pipe and drape, hurricane vases with pearled wax, or one of our four arch options, you can build those into your package.

Food, Beverage, and Vendor Flexibility

The Wenbeck partners with a preferred list of caterers, including The Berwick, Together and Co, LA Catering, City BBQ, Hudson's Edge, Milano Creative Catering, Metro Cuisine, Catering by Milos, and Awadh Indian Restaurant. If you want to bring a caterer who isn't on our list, we work with Top Shelf Events to provide service staff, so you still get the level of attention your event deserves.

For bar service, you have three options. The BYOB+ option means we source the alcohol, mixers, non alcoholic beverages, and bartenders, and you take home unopened beer, wine, seltzers, and champagne. Our drink packages include unlimited drinks, standard mixers, non alcoholic beverages, and the first two bartenders. We also offer a cash bar option for Monday-Thursday events, Friday and Sunday events. The Wenbeck holds a State of Ohio Liquor License, so everything is handled properly.

A Location That Makes Sense for Northern Columbus

We're located at 1940 Little Bear Loop in Lewis Center, on the grounds of Little Bear Golf Club. The property sits near Polaris Fashion Place and major highways, including I-71 and I-270, with hotels nearby for out-of-town guests. The northern Columbus area gives you easy access without the traffic that comes with driving through downtown, which matters when you're coordinating vendors or welcoming guests from Westerville, Dublin, Delaware, Worthington, New Albany, or Marysville.

The ponds and landscaping create natural photo spots throughout the property, and the stone patio overlooking the water catches golden hour light during spring, summer, and fall events. Winter events benefit from the heated pavilion and the ballroom's floor-to-ceiling windows.

Events We Support Beyond Weddings

The Wenbeck hosts birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, retirement parties, baby and bridal showers, sweet sixteens, baptism celebrations, family and class reunions, fundraisers, retreats, and dances. Our corporate event calendar includes seminars, team building sessions, open houses, meetings, and holiday parties. The partitionable ballroom lets us adjust capacity and layout to match your group size, and the in-house AV setup includes the projection screen, customizable lighting, and ample outlets.

We also welcome multicultural events and work with families to honor traditions that require specific timing, room flow, or vendor coordination. If you need a rehearsal hour, it's included in your rental at no extra cost.

Conclusion

If you're planning a private celebration in Columbus and want a venue that gives you room to customize without requiring you to start from scratch, we'd be glad to show you around. The best way to understand how The Wenbeck works is to walk the property, see the sightlines from the ballroom balcony, and picture your guests on the patio as the sun sets over the pond.

Request a pricing guide or schedule a tour by calling (740) 953-7085 or visiting thewenbeck.com. We're here Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and we can arrange weekend tours by request.

The Best Features of The Wenbeck’s Ballroom for Your Wedding Reception in Columbus

When you picture your Columbus wedding reception, you're probably imagining a space that feels both elegant and relaxed, where your guests can move easily from ceremony to cocktails to dinner. At The Wenbeck, our ballroom brings that vision together with features designed to make your celebration feel seamless and personal.

We've hosted hundreds of receptions here in Lewis Center, and we've learned what makes the biggest difference on the day itself. It's not just one element. It's the way the entire space works together, the flow from one moment to the next, and the features that let you focus on celebrating instead of worrying.

The Wenbeck’s ballroom is ideal for Columbus wedding receptions because it offers space for up to 210 guests, a built-in dance floor, a projection screen, smooth flow from the pavilion and patio, and practical inclusions like setup, linens, and on-site management. Its layout, flexibility, and convenient location help create a comfortable and well-organized reception experience.

Why The Wenbeck Ballroom Stands Out for Wedding Receptions in Columbus

A Ballroom Built for Comfort and Celebration

Our ballroom comfortably accommodates up to 210 guests for weddings and receptions. The ceilings are high, which keeps the energy light even when the dance floor is full. There's a spacious entrance where guests can arrive without bottlenecking, and a stone fireplace that anchors the room with warmth. We designed this space to feel contemporary and timeless at the same time, so your photos will look just as beautiful in twenty years as they do today.

The large dance floor sits at the heart of the room. It's permanent and built in, so there's no need to rent flooring or worry about stability. When the DJ cues your first dance or your band starts the hora, the space is ready.

A Floor-to-Ceiling Projection Screen That Brings Your Story to Life

One of the features couples use most is our floor-to-ceiling projection screen. It's ideal for displaying a slideshow during dinner, showing a welcome message as guests arrive, or playing a tribute video. The screen is built into the ballroom, so setup is simple, and the visuals are crisp from every seat. We've watched guests laugh, tear up, and lean in closer as couples share their stories on screen. It turns dinner into a shared experience.

This feature makes a reception feel more personal. Your guests get to see your engagement photos, childhood snapshots, or messages from loved ones who couldn't be there. It's a small addition that creates a big emotional impact.

Two Spaces That Work Together or Stand Alone

Our ballroom is one of two event spaces on the property. The other is the All-Seasons Pavilion, an open-air structure with retractable glass doors, heat, ceiling fans, and panoramic views of our manicured landscaping and ponds. Many couples use the pavilion for their ceremony and then move guests into the ballroom for the reception.

The two spaces are close enough that the transition feels natural. Your guests walk from the pavilion's 3,000 square foot stone patio, past the waterfront, and into the ballroom without ever losing the flow of the day. If you want to combine the spaces, you can keep the pavilion open for dancing under the stars while the ballroom serves as your dining room. The flexibility is yours.

What's Included With Your Ballroom Reception

When you book the ballroom for your reception, we include the setup that makes the day run smoothly. You'll have Gold Chiavari Chairs with white pads, tables for guests, cake, and gifts, polyester linens and napkins in your choice of colors, and a dedicated On-Site Venue Manager who stays with you throughout the event.

We also handle all setup and teardown, provide complementary load-in and load-out, include liability insurance, and offer overnight parking. The space is climate-controlled year-round, and we give you access to the upper ballroom balcony, which offers a different vantage point for photos or a quiet moment.

Your five-hour reception includes an additional hour for load out, so there's no rush at the end of the night. If you're holding your ceremony with us, your arrival time is flexible depending on when the ceremony begins.

A Venue Manager Who Keeps Everything on Track

Every wedding at The Wenbeck includes a dedicated venue manager. This person is your main point of contact on the day itself. They greet and direct your vendors, design your room layout, review your contracts and final details, and run your one-hour rehearsal.

If you're working with an outside coordinator, our Venue Manager supports them. If you're managing logistics yourself, the Venue Manager steps in as your day-of guide. You'll meet with them and your coordinator, if you have one, about a month before the wedding to walk through the timeline and confirm every detail.

For couples who want more hands-on planning support, we offer an optional Day-of Coordination Package. This add-on gives you early venue access at 10 AM, even without a ceremony, a detailed event schedule for all vendors, full coordination of ceremony and reception décor, monthly planning check-ins starting twelve months out, and unlimited calls and emails leading up to your day. The coordinator also packs up your décor at the end of the night.

Bar Service That Fits Your Vision

We hold a State of Ohio Liquor License, and we offer three bar service options. Most couples choose either BYOB+ (Build Your Own Bar) or one of our four curated drink packages.

With BYOB+, The Wenbeck sources your alcohol, mixers, non-alcoholic beverages, and bartenders. At the end of the night, you can take home any unopened beer, wine, seltzers, and champagne. Liquor stays on site per Ohio law.

Our drink packages include unlimited drinks for your guests, the first two bartenders, and all standard mixers and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks cannot leave the property with this option.

If you're celebrating on a Friday or Sunday, a cash bar is also available.

Open Vendor Policy With Trusted Catering Partners

The Wenbeck works with an open vendor policy, which means you can bring in the professionals you trust. We don't provide catering ourselves, but we partner closely with a preferred list of caterers who know our space well. That list includes The Berwick, L.A. Catering, City BBQ, Hudson's Edge, Milano Creative Catering, Metro Cuisine, Catering by Milos, and Awadh Indian Restaurant.

If you want to use a caterer who's not on our preferred list, you're welcome to do so. We'll coordinate with Top Shelf Events to provide the service staff for your reception.

Add-ons That Make the Day Uniquely Yours

We offer a range of enhancements that let you customize your reception. You can putt putt during cocktail hour on our miniature golf course, which is consistently one of the most talked-about features after the event. Guests love the novelty, and it gives everyone something interactive to do while you're taking photos.

Other popular add-ons include our champagne cart, four arch options if you're holding your ceremony with us, hurricane vases with pearled wax for your tables, pipe and drape for backdrops, and two neon signs you can choose from. We also offer full event putting if you want the course available all night, and an island green add on for a custom experience.

If you're using the pavilion for your cocktail hour, you can reserve it for the full day or just the last three hours.

Why Location Matters for Your Columbus Reception

We're located at 1940 Little Bear Loop in Lewis Center, on the grounds of Little Bear Golf Club. The property spans 40 acres, and we're near Polaris Fashion Shopping District, I-71, I-270, and several hotels. That makes it easy for out-of-town guests to find us and stay nearby.

The setting feels tucked away, even though we're close to major highways. You'll have views of three ponds, manicured golf course grounds, and landscaping that changes with the seasons. Golden hour here is reliably stunning, and your photographer will have plenty of signature photo locations around the property.

We're also wheelchair accessible throughout, with restrooms in multiple locations and ample parking on site.

The Features That Make Winter Receptions Work

Our ballroom is climate-controlled, which makes it ideal for winter weddings. You won't need to worry about keeping guests comfortable, and the stone fireplace adds a natural warmth to the room.

If you're planning a winter ceremony, our All-Seasons Pavilion is heated and enclosed, so you can still have that open-air feeling with views of the ponds and landscaping without subjecting your guests to the cold. The retractable glass doors mean you can adjust based on the weather that day.

What Happens on the Day Itself

Most couples arrive for setup in the morning or early afternoon, depending on their ceremony time. Our team has already arranged the tables, chairs, and linens according to the layout you approved. Your caterer and other vendors check in with the Venue Manager, who directs them to the right areas.

If you're getting ready on site, you'll have access to our new Wedding Suite and Parlor, which offer separate spaces for you and your wedding party.

After the ceremony, whether it's in the pavilion or another location, guests move to the patio for cocktails. If you've added putting, they can head to the golf course. When it's time for dinner, everyone transitions into the ballroom. The flow is intuitive, and your Venue Manager keeps everything on schedule.

The reception runs for five hours, with an additional hour at the end for load out. Receptions can run until midnight. At the end of the night, your Day-of Coordinator, if you've added that service, packs up your décor. Otherwise, your designated contact handles it with the help of your vendors.

Conclusion:

Your reception should feel like the best party you've ever thrown, not the most stressful event you've ever planned. That's why we built the ballroom the way we did, with features that work quietly in the background so you can focus on celebrating with the people who matter most. It's elegant without being stuffy, flexible without being vague, and built for the kind of celebration where guests actually relax and enjoy themselves.

If you want to see the ballroom in person, we'd love to show you around. Tours are available by form submission or phone, and we can accommodate weekend visits. You can also view our full pricing guide and preferred vendors list on our website.

What Sets The Wenbeck Apart from Other Franklin County Wedding Venues

When you're comparing wedding venues across Franklin County, it's easy to feel like you're looking at slight variations of the same formula. Ballrooms that look similar, ceremony sites that feel interchangeable, packages that blur together. We know, because we've heard it from couples who visit us after touring other spaces.

What we've built at The Wenbeck isn't another ballroom with a nice view tacked on. It's two completely distinct event spaces on a 40-acre property that give you the flexibility to design your day exactly the way you want it, without compromise.

The Wenbeck stands out from other Franklin County wedding venues because it offers two separate event spaces, flexibility for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, an all-seasons pavilion, a distinctive ballroom, open catering options, and helpful inclusions like setup, linens, and on-site management. Its 40-acre property, ponds, and easy access create a convenient and customizable experience for couples.

Why Two Spaces Change Everything for Your Wedding Day

Most venues ask you to pick a lane: indoor or outdoor, elegant or natural. Backup plan or ideal plan. We think that's a false choice.

The All Seasons Pavilion Means Your Ceremony Happens Where You Want It

Our pavilion isn't a tent. It's a permanent structure with retractable glass doors, heat, ceiling fans, and lighting, which means your ceremony can feel open to the air even in February. The space overlooks our 3,000 square foot stone patio and one of three ponds on the property. When the glass retracts, your guests are surrounded by manicured golf course views. When it's closed, they're comfortable, and you still get the light and the sightlines.

You're not making a weather gamble. Instead, you're choosing the view you want while we handle the rest.

The pavilion seats 225 for a ceremony. You can use our white ceremony chairs, which are included, and our house arch. If you want a cocktail hour here later, that's an option too. The space is large enough that your guests can spread out on the patio with a drink while the ballroom and dinner awaits.

The Wenbeck Ballroom Gives You a Reception Space That Doesn't Feel Generic

High ceilings. A stone fireplace. A spacious entrance that doesn't bottleneck your guests. Floor-to-ceiling windows and an upper balcony that overlook the property. This isn't a blank box with uplighting doing all the work.

The ballroom comfortably holds 210 guests for a buffet style dinner, and the dance floor is built in, not something we're carving out of your seating area. You'll have room to move. If you want to use the floor-to-ceiling projection screen for a slideshow or live feed of toasts, it's there. If you'd rather skip it, the room works without it.

Because the pavilion and ballroom are separate, you can use both. Some couples do a ceremony in the pavilion, a cocktail hour on the patio, and a reception in the ballroom. Others flip it. A few have even opened the pavilion back up after dinner so guests can dance under the stars later in the evening.

You Get Dedicated Spaces for Getting Ready, Not a Hallway

Our new Wedding Suite and Parlor give you and your wedding party separate areas to get ready. They're styled, not just functional. Your photographer won't be working around folding chairs and fluorescent lights. You'll have a space that's part of the story, not an afterthought.

What's Actually Included When You Book The Wenbeck

We've talked to enough couples to know that "inclusions" can mean anything from "you get four walls" to "we'll basically plan the thing for you." Here's where we land.

Furniture, Linens, and Setup You Don't Have to Think About

Gold Chiavari chairs with white pads for your reception. White ceremony chairs. Tables for guests, cake, gifts. Polyester linens and napkins in your choice of colors. All of it is set up and torn down by our team, and you get a full hour after your event ends to load out.

You'll have five hours for your reception, and your arrival time is flexible depending on whether you're doing a ceremony with us. We're not running you on a tight clock.

A Venue Manager Who's There the Whole Time

Every wedding at The Wenbeck includes an on-site Venue Manager. This is the person who meets with you and your coordinator (If you didn’t add our Day of Coordinator service) a month before your event, runs your one-hour rehearsal (also included), greets your vendors on the day, and acts as your main point of contact for anything venue-related.

If you want more hands-on support, we offer an optional Day of Coordination add-on. That package includes everything the Venue Manager does, plus early venue access at 10 AM, even if you're not doing a ceremony, a detailed timeline for all your vendors, décor setup and packout with your vendors, and monthly planning check-ins starting a year out. It's for couples who want someone managing the details so they don't have to.

Liability Insurance and Rehearsal Access

Your liability insurance is covered. Your rehearsal is included. Overnight parking is available if guests need it. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and we have restrooms in multiple locations.

We're also licensed by the State of Ohio to serve alcohol, which brings us to the next thing couples ask about.

Three Bar Options That Let You Control Your Budget and Your Vibe

You can do a full bar through us. You can do drink packages. Or, if you're getting married on a Friday or Sunday, you can do a cash bar.

Option one is BYOB+ (Build Your Own Bar). We source the alcohol, mixers, non alcoholic beverages, and bartenders. At the end of the night, you take home any unopened beer, wine, seltzers, or champagne. Liquor stays here, per Ohio law. This option gives you control without the logistics.

Option two is one of our four curated drink packages. Unlimited drinks, your first two bartenders, and standard mixers and beverages are included. The alcohol doesn't leave the property, but you're not counting bottles at the end of the night either.

Option three is a cash bar, available on Fridays and Sundays only.

Whatever you choose, you're working with a licensed venue and experienced bartenders.

Catering Flexibility That Actually Means Something

We don't do food. We know food matters, so we work with professional caterers instead of trying to do it in-house.

You can pick from our preferred list, which includes The Berwick, L.A. Catering, City BBQ, Hudson's Edge, Milano Creative Catering, Metro Cuisine, Catering by Milos, and Awadh Indian Restaurant. These teams know our space, and they know how to execute here.

If you have a caterer you love who's not on that list, you can bring them. When you do, we partner with Top Shelf Events to provide service staff so everything runs smoothly.

Open vendor policy isn't a footnote for us. It's how we operate. You should be able to work with the people you trust.

Putt Putt, Ponds, and a Location That's Easy to Get To

We're located on the grounds of Little Bear Golf Club, near Polaris, I-71, and I-270. Your guests from Lewis Center, Columbus, Westerville, Dublin, Delaware, or Sunbury won't be making a trek. Hotels are nearby. Parking is ample.

The 40-acre property gives you three ponds, manicured golf course grounds, and a putt-putt course that's become one of the things people remember most about weddings here. You can add a cocktail hour, full event putting, or skip it entirely. We've had couples use it as an icebreaker. We've had others use it as entertainment during the reception while the dance floor is getting started.

It's a detail that turns into a moment.

If you want to use the grounds for photos, the waterfront views and golden hour lighting near the ponds are there. Golf carts are available if you want to move around the property without your bridal party hiking in heels.

The Difference Is in What You Don't Have to Compromise

You don't have to choose between a ceremony space and a reception space. You don't have to hope the weather cooperates. You don't have to bring in a caterer in secret or settle for the in-house menu. You don't have to wonder if your Venue Manager will actually be there or if "on-site coordination" means someone checking in once an hour.

At The Wenbeck, you get two spaces that work together, a team that shows up, and a property that gives you options without making you do the logistical math to pull it off.

If that sounds like the kind of venue you've been looking for, we'd love to show you around.

FAQs

Can we do both our ceremony and reception at The Wenbeck, or do we need to pick one space?
Yes. The pavilion and ballroom are separate spaces, so you can do your ceremony in one and reception in the other without flipping rooms or making guests wait during setup.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
The All Seasons Pavilion is a permanent structure with retractable glass doors, heat, and lighting. Your ceremony moves inside without losing the open air feel or pond views. It's built for every season.

Do we have to use your caterer, or can we bring someone we've already been talking to?
You can bring your own. We have preferred partners, but our vendor policy is open. If your caterer isn't on our list, we partner with Top Shelf Events for service staff.

Are tables, chairs, and linens included, or is that an extra cost?
They're included. You get Gold Chiavari chairs, white ceremony chairs, guest tables, and linens in your choice of colors. Our team handles setup and teardown. No separate rental coordination needed.

How far in advance do we need to book The Wenbeck?
Most couples book 12 to 18 months out for peak Saturdays. Call us at (740) 953-7085 or request a pricing guide to check your date and talk through your timeline.
